We are planning a series of events to celebrate 150 years of Grittleton Cricket Club.  This page will be updated as plans form.

Race Night: Saturday 21st April 2018

Come along to the village hall for this social occasion: Sponsor a race, Own a Horse (After all both England opening test bowlers do) or just have a flutter on the races.  Hosted by our experienced race night organisers, the evening will include a meal and a bar will be available.

Village Cricket Festival: Saturday 7th July 2018.  

This is the main event – fun day  for all the family based around cricket .  Amongst ideas for activities are:
– Recreation of the iconic cricketers 1868 picture using 2018 players and villagers
– A (Short)  game of cricket using 1868 laws (e.g. No boundaries….!)
– Cricket challenges for kids and adults: How far can you throw a cricket ball,  Can you beat the bowling machine?
– Victorian Cricket Tea
– Kwik Cricket competition, volleyball, croquet etc
– Beer and food
– Evening celebration – possibly including live music.

Cricket Dinner – September.

An event to unveil the New Clock.  A gathering of current and ex players, vice presidents and anyone else who is interested in cricket.   Reminiscence and celebration.  – What was the best game you played in?  What was your best performance? Your most memorable moment?
